2.9mm Interlocking Screw | Orthopedic Trauma Implants

Clinical Indications in Orthopedic Trauma

The 2.9mm interlocking screw is indicated for stabilizing diaphyseal and metaphyseal fractures managed with intramedullary devices:

  • Pediatric Long Bone Fractures: Diaphyseal fractures of the pediatric femur and tibia treated with rigid or semi-rigid small-diameter intramedullary nails.

  • Forearm Diaphyseal Nailing: Static and dynamic interlocking fixation for adult and adolescent radius and ulna intramedullary nail constructs.

  • Humerus Trauma in Small Stature: Fixation of proximal and distal locking apertures in miniature humeral intramedullary systems.

  • Comminuted & Length-Unstable Fractures: Preventing axial collapse and limb discrepancy in unstable pediatric diaphyseal trauma.

  • Osteogenesis Imperfecta & Deformity Correction: Locking anchor for telescopic and expandable rod constructs in pediatric osteotomy stabilization.

Product Featured

Rotational & Axial Control

Transversely engages the transverse or oblique dynamic/static locking holes of the intramedullary nail, neutralizing torsional and shear forces across comminuted and spiral diaphyseal fractures.

High Shear Yield Strength

Designed with a reinforced core diameter and low-profile thread pitch specifically calculated to withstand the acute cross-sectional shear loads exerted by the nail wall under physiological stress.

Self-Tapping Blunt/Tapered Tip

Features precision-engineered cutting flutes with a rounded guide point that smoothly threads through the near and far cortices while preventing soft-tissue irritation or neurovascular impaction on the exiting cortex.

Low-Profile Head Design

Contoured low-profile screw head seats cleanly against the bone envelope, minimizing soft-tissue irritation, tendon irritation, and hardware prominence in thin subcutaneous pediatric segments (such as the distal humerus, proximal tibia, or forearm).

Anti-Stripping Drive Recess

Precision-machined with a StarDrive (T10/T15) or standard hexagonal recess to prevent drive deformation and cam-out during tight insertion through aiming jigs and targeting guides.

Traceability

Permanent laser-etched markings featuring screw diameter, length, and manufacturing lot code for OR safety and regulatory compliance.
