3.5mm Cortical Screw | Orthopedic Trauma Implants

Clinical Indications in Orthopedic Trauma The 3.5mm cortical screw self-tappingis indicated for trauma reconstruction and internal fixation of diaphyseal and metaphyseal fractures in small long bones:

  • Forearm Fractures: Diaphyseal radius and ulna shaft fractures, including compression plating of simple transverse and short oblique fractures.

  • Ankle & Fibula Fixation: Lateral malleolus Weber A, B, and C fractures using 1/3 tubular or anatomical distal fibula plates; syndesmotic reduction screws.

  • Independent Lag Screw Fixation: Interfragmentary lag screw placement across spiral or oblique fractures of the humerus, fibula, metacarpals, or metatarsals prior to neutralisation plating.

  • Clavicle & Scapular Fractures: Midshaft clavicle fractures requiring rigid non-locking dynamic compression.

  • Pelvic & Foot Surgery: Calcaneal reconstruction, pelvic rim stabilization, and midfoot arthrodesis procedures.

Product Featured

Interfragmentary Bone Compression

Designed with a smooth underside spherical head that countersinks cleanly into bone or non-threaded plate eyelets, providing high axial clamping force for primary bone healing.

Aggressive Self-Tapping Geometry

Features sharp distal cutting flutes that carve clean female threads as the screw advances, eliminating the need for a bone tap, reducing operative time, and minimizing thermal necrosis risks in dense cortical bone.

High Cortical Pull-Out Resistance

Engineered with an asymmetrical buttress thread profile that maximizes bone-to-metal contact area in hard diaphyseal bone, resisting axial pull-out and torsional failure.

Low-Profile Head Geometry

Minimizes soft-tissue irritation, tendon impingement, and bursal inflammation in thin-envelope anatomical sites like the distal fibula and forearm.

Anti-Cam-Out Recess

Available in standard 2.5 mm Hexagonal or T15 StarDrive profiles to maximize torque transfer and avoid head stripping during high-torque bicortical seating.

Traceability

High-definition laser marking on screw heads showing diameter, length, and batch lot numbers for traceability.
