Clinical Indications in Orthopedic Trauma The 3.0mm cannulated headless screw is indicated for fracture fixation, non-union reconstruction, osteotomies, and arthrodesis across small and medium-sized articular fragments:
-
Scaphoid Non-Unions & Fractures: Large scaphoid waist fractures, proximal pole reconstruction, and recalcitrant non-unions requiring robust compression.
-
Carpal & Metacarpal Trauma: Intra-articular fractures of the trapezium, hamate, and capitate; Bennett’s and Rolando fracture fragments; and metacarpal base/head articular splits.
-
Radial Head & Capitellum Trauma: Mason Type II and split coronal shear fractures of the elbow joint where screw heads would disrupt the radiocapitellar or proximal radioulnar joint (PRUJ).
-
Foot & Ankle Osteotomies and Fractures: Chevron and Akin osteotomies for hallux valgus correction, navicular and cuboid fractures, and proximal interphalangeal (PIP) arthrodesis.
-
Malleolar & Intra-Articular Avulsions: Chaput or Tillaux articular avulsion fragments, small posterior malleolar fragments, and coronoid process fixation of the ulna.
