Clinical Indications in Orthopedic Trauma The 6.5mm cannulated headless screw is indicated for large fragment intra-articular trauma reconstruction, osteotomies, non-union stabilization, and high-load joint arthrodesis:
-
Hindfoot & Ankle Arthrodesis: Subtalar joint fusion, tibiotalar (ankle) arthrodesis, and triple arthrodesis procedures where protruding hardware causes painful subcutaneous soft-tissue prominence.
-
Femoral Condyle Coronal Shear Fractures: Hoffa fractures (AO/OTA 33-B3) of the distal femur requiring anterior-to-posterior or posterior-to-anterior subchondral headless compression.
-
Tibial Plateau Fractures: Split intra-articular coronal or sagittal fractures of the medial or lateral tibial condyles (Schatzker Type I, II, and IV) requiring subchondral interfragmentary lag compression.
-
Talus & Calcaneus Trauma: Displaced fractures of the talar body/neck and large intra-articular calcaneus shear splits.
-
Pelvic & Acetabular Column Fixation: Subchondral lag fixation across posterior wall/column acetabular fragments where screw heads would obstruct joint kinematics.
-
Major Joint Osteotomies: Supracondylar femoral or tibial corrective osteotomies requiring high-yield internal compression.
