Clinical Indications in Orthopedic Trauma The 6.4mm lag screw is indicated for stabilizing proximal femoral fractures managed with intramedullary nail systems:

  • Intertrochanteric Fractures: Stable and unstable pertrochanteric fractures (AO/OTA 31-A1 and 31-A2) requiring controlled impaction.

  • Subtrochanteric Fractures: High subtrochanteric fractures with trochanteric extension treated with long cephalomedullary nails.

  • Reverse Obliquity Fractures: Transverse and reverse obliquity trochanteric patterns (AO/OTA 31-A3) prone to severe medial displacement.

  • Osteoporotic Hip Trauma: Fragility fractures in elderly patients requiring robust anchorage in poor bone mineral density to avoid cut-out.

  • Pathological & Impending Trochanteric Fractures: Prophylactic or post-fracture internal fixation of metastatic bone lesions in the proximal femur.

Features precision lateral engagement flats or drive slots that interface with nail stop screws and anti-rotation sleeves, ensuring the screw resists unthreading or spinning during patient mobilization.

Heavy-Duty Fatigue Strength

Fabricated from high-tensile titanium alloy or vacuum-melted 316L stainless steel to withstand high cyclic cantilever bending moments across unstable trochanteric segments.
